Cavalli's Giasone conducted by FMS now in DVD!

Special praise must go to Federico Maria Sardelli’s music direction. His conducting is unconventional but insightful, accurate and intensely emotional. The best way to describe it is probably with simple words: it was a great pleasure to be present that evening. Not only did Sardelli conduct with sensitivity and overwhelming joy, but he himself performed on the sopranino recorder, displaying his virtuoso mastery of the instrument. A good example of how the spirit of interpretation can translate into making music freely, and kindle a sparkle that will enthuse every spectator, even the most demanding.
Sardelli collaborated in the staging of this opera not only by adapting it to modern expectations, but also by composing many orchestral interludes, symphonies and ritornelli. The result cannot be praised enough. Lightness and buoyancy, compelling magic of the opera as brilliant entertainment, true pleasure of making music, a gust of happiness: all that comes together in this performance, breathing life into a concept of music that is exhaustive and requires no further comment.
